The promoters of a signature NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track have been named as the best in the nation for 2010.
By vote of weekly short-track operators across the United States, the Nuckles family and Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway received the prestigious 25th annual Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Monday morning. The award is a highlight of the annual Racing Promotion Monthly workshops, held annually in Daytona Beach during Speedweeks.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 2010 Drive for Diversity class – which will drive in the NASCAR developmental series for Revolution Racing – will be introduced Tuesday at the IMAX Theater at the Daytona 500 Experience. The presentation will include an exclusive sneak peaek of the forthcoming television show, Changing Lanes, which focuses on this year’s class and will air on BET Network.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR Whelen All-American Series race tracks from throughout North America were represented at the 2010 Track Operators Meeting in the Daytona 500 Club at Daytona International Speedway on Friday morning.
The event was part of the annual gathering of NASCAR track operators at Speedweeks in Daytona.
The featured speaker was Darrell Waltrip, a three-time champion in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, who talked about his passion for short track racing.

NORTHAMPTON, Pa. - For the 2010 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Eric Beers, from Northampton Pa., is being given one the best opportunities to win the NASCAR championship with two of Modified racing’s long time supporters.
Dave and Laura DeLange of Lockport, N.Y., and John Blewett, of Howell N.J., are going split the 2010 season as car owners with Eric as the pilot of the NASCAR Modified.

With the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season right around the corner, it’s been a busy Winter for many drivers. For Adam Royle, it was a little more hectic than usual.
Royle’s offseason included a recent trip to St. Paul to be honored by Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty. Royle was the 2009 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Minnesota state champion.
“Gov. Pawlenty is a real nice man to meet. I was impressed,” Royle said. “We talked racing and invited him to come to our tracks.”

IRWINDALE, Calif. – Joey Logano got his second NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown trophy and Sergio Pena nearly made a historic debut on the national stage.
Logano, 19, held off the 16-year-old Pena and two-time race winner Matt Kobyluck for the victory in the 225-lap race Saturday before a sold-out crowd in Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.
It was Pena's first career race in NASCAR's top developmental series and it came in the non-points, postseason event, which has earned the moniker the "Daytona 500 of short-track racing."

IRWINDALE, Calif. – Sergio Pena highlighted an action-packed day in Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on Friday as he captured the pole for Saturday’s NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown.
In his first competition in a NASCAR K&N Pro Series race car, the 16-year-old Pena captured the 21 Means 21 Pole Award presented by Coors Light for the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown with a fast lap of 18.390 seconds (97.879 mph) during qualifying Friday evening.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) announced today that K&N Engineering, Inc., will be the title sponsor for NASCAR’s top developmental series, formerly known as the NASCAR Camping World Series East and West, beginning in 2010.
The NASCAR K&N Pro Series will continue to crown champions through separate schedules on the East and West Coast. The seven-year agreement illustrates NASCAR’s commitment to the grassroots foundation of the sport.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Two-time NASCAR Camping World Series East championship runner-up Sean Caisse has announced his intentions to return to the series full-time for the 2010 season.
Caisse, a development driver for Richard Childress Racing, competed full-time in the Camping World Series East from 2005-07 and compiled seven wins with 12 poles. The title runner-up in 2006 and 2007, Caisse announced his intentions to return to the Camping World Series East this year on the Sirius NASCAR Radio show “The Morning Drive.”

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Joe Gibbs Racing revealed its 2010 NASCAR Camping World Series East driver lineup of Max Gresham and Brett Moffitt today at the organization’s media day.
With one of the more prominent driver development programs in NASCAR today, JGR has fielded teams in the Camping World Series East in recent seasons for such up-and-coming talents as Joey Logano, Marc Davis and Matt DiBenedetto. Gresham and Moffitt will look to continue the trend of on-track success in the series for JGR in 2010.
